With the hurricane approaching, we are experiencing high demand and limited manpower. Unfortunately, we can’t take on any more canopy removal requests at this time.
If you need to remove your canopy, here’s a quick guide:

Hurricane Boat Lift Cover Removal and Reinstallation in Port Charlotte, Florida
Important Notice:
The most crucial thing to remember is that the canopy MUST be removed if winds exceed 70 MPH.
Boat Lift Cover Removal Process:

- Initiation: Our removal list will be activated when a named hurricane is forecasted to approach Port Charlotte. No deposit is required to get on the list.
- Hurricane Unpredictability: Hurricanes can change direction, weaken, or intensify at any moment. Therefore, it is up to you to decide when you want your canopy removed. Stay informed about the weather and contact our team if you decide to proceed with the removal.
- Removal Efforts: Coastline Boatlift Covers will strive to remove as many covers as possible. However, we cannot guarantee that all tops will be removed. Our technicians, including the owner, will be out removing covers as long as it is safe, provided we have access to fuel and our employees have not been evacuated.
DIY Canopy Removal:
If you choose to remove your boat lift canopy yourself, follow these steps:

- Start in the middle and accordion fold from the back to the middle.
- Then, accordion fold from the front to the middle.
- Once folded, roll it up from the offshore side (the side furthest from the seawall).

- Removal: While we cannot guarantee removal for everyone, we will make every effort to reach as many clients as possible.
- Reinstallation: Following the hurricane, send an email with your contact information for reinstallation.
- Frame Damage: If your frame is damaged, send all contact information and pictures to help us assess whether we can repair or replace it.
